Tom Hudecek also known as RED is an independent photographer specializing in portrait and mountain landscape photography. Over the years he has combined mountaineering and rock climbing with his activities as a photographer. He uses film cameras, mostly medium format or 35mm film, and traditional darkroom methods, such as black and white or color process. His trademarks are the square format, as well as color photography. The impulse to embrace the art of classic photography came in 2005, at the time of digital boom when he got an old Zenit camera from his father. As a kid learning from scratch, his love for analog gradually developed into a life-long passion. As a self-taught photographer, he found a new kind of freedom and flexibility in his further work. Since 2013 Tom has contributed a number of articles and video interviews for the online magazine AFUK.cz. Tom started running a photo-lab, which enabled him to master the craft of film developing and printmaking. This experience formed a perfect soil for planting the seeds of creativity. As a keen explorer, Tom always looks for contrasts, such as a humble person as a part of a magnificent nature. As an acute observer, his passion is making portraits. In 2020, he and his friends (Ladislav Vavřík, Dalibor Kvita, Tomáš Vítek) managed to start a photo group NUDLAŘI. They are focused on panoramic format and joint theme. www.nudlari.cz
